We’ve heard it before. The story goes something like, “I come once every few months and I always feel relaxed afterwards but during the float, I have such a hard time relaxing my body and quieting my mind”. Sound familiar to anyone?

This is one of the first things we tell clients who inquire about ways to find more physical relaxation and how to deepen their meditative experience during a float. It’s pretty plain and simple. The more you come in to float, the easier it can be for you to drop into that deeply relaxed physical and mental state. Keep floating and you’ll see a difference. Consistency is key!
Remember that no two floats will feel the exact same way. Every time you float, the experience is unique for what you need at that time. If you have expectations for how it should be or what it should feel like, your mind is remaining activated and preventing your body from deeply resting.
